PARIS TAPES
»it becomes our water-mark. if the water covers the rock it will flood our room. i saw the curvature of the earth i shout. i saw the curvature of my life Paul said.« Ruth Weiss
PARIS TAPES is a kind of somnambulistic diary with a psychological undertone, shot during our time in Paris from 2003 to 2005. The film shows intimate scenes of our life in Paris as scholarship holders at the Cité des Arts. The camera narrates a life in ecstatic turmoil, always on the edge of change. We are here to clear, to find the next step. It seems that there is only little difference between dreaming and experiencing.
For this film, we worked for the first time with a young musician, margret unknown, who translated the camera’s lurching and staggering into a complex soundtrack.
